All Nurses who are working in First Nations Communities AND who will be involved with the Covid19 Vaccine rollout are required to complete the BCCDC COVID-19 Immunization Competency Course for Nurses (RNs, RPNs, LPNs) that is now live on the LearningHub. This course replaces the existing ‘Condensed Competency Process for COVID-19 Vaccine Providers” and the EPIC course is no longer required for new nurse immunizers who will be providing COVID-19 vaccines only. **Please note, if you have already completed the EPIC condensed Immunization Course, you do NOT need to complete both.
If you are a NEW Immunizers and have not yet done so, please email Sandra.shannon@solutionsstaffing.ca to complete a checklist and review of the material prior to your assignment start date.
Please note that the BCCDC Immunization Competency Course continues to be recommended for new immunizers who administer vaccines other than COVID-19 vaccines. Nurses who have recently taken the BCCDC Immunization Competency Course do not need to take the BCCDC COVID-19 Immunization Competency Course but should view BCCDC COVID-19 immunization webinars on LearningHub and refer to the BC Immunization Manual guidelines.
Please let us know if you have any questions, or if we can support you in any way as you prepare for this very important rollout.
