When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it…or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.
Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!
I picked up this book because I had read Sarah’s other series Throne of Glass and really enjoyed it.
This book also involves some fae in it, this one is about a poor human girl trying to support herself and her family. She is a mostly self-taught hunter who one day goes into the forest to hunt and comes across a deer. She is going to kill it and along comes a wolf trying to kill the same deer. Turns out said wolf is fae, she kills it and ends up being dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie. They watch her like a hawk day and night, but she begins to learn to get used to the way of life they give her. Of course, she starts to have feelings for the other main character in the story, a fae male of course (apparently all fae are gorgeous, so who could blame her??) and the story moves on through there.
I didn’t enjoy this one as much as her other series, the other series has more action, or maybe she just provided more detail about the action…not sure. Either way, if you enjoy fae and kind of sappy love stories I’d give this one a shot!
