Mandatory Training – FNHA Communities

Hello Travelers,

Nurses working in Takla Landing and all FNHA Nursing Stations except for Kwadacha(Fort Ware) and Ulkatcho (Anahim Lake) are required to complete additional training in the use of the Abbott ID Now systems that are currently in all communities.  (except for Kwadacha and Ulkatcho which have the GenX machines at this time.

From Laura – FNHA Professional Practice Lead – Rural/Remote Practice Team.

“I know this is a busy time, especially coming up on month end. And I know sometimes it is hard to see the benefit of being able to operate this device in communities as they do not rule out Covid-19. However – in the event of a positive case – they do offer the ability to get the public health response started days earlier than sending samples out to the nearest lab. I want to encourage everyone to complete this training, and to thank you in advance: we know that it is one more thing on your very long list of tasks to complete. Unfortunately, delaying this training could affect the conscious and paced way that equipment is operationalized for communities, as well as resulting in a heavier workload in the future.  We know that you absolutely want the best chance for communities to be able to respond quickly and effectively to positive cases of Covid-19, and your ability to be able to offer this to community is vital.”

If you are currently booked on assignment, I have sent the education plan to your email and noted it below here.  When you arrive for your assignment, you will be given opportunity to complete the practical component of this training, you can confirm completion at the email noted in your email and also send confirmation to HR@solutionsstaffing.ca so we can add it to your professional profile.
