As a result of continuing rising water levels, a state of emergency has been declared under the emergency management & civil protection act, and the town of Bracebridge has activated its Emergency plan. The situation is monitored closely by the town’s Emergency Control Group (ECG). The Town of Bracebridge has been advised by the Ministry of Natural Resources of rising water levels on lakes and rivers. In addition, localized flooding is being experienced in low-lying areas.
Rain forecasted for Bracebridge and surrounding communities may have an impact on the extent of flooding.
