While on her way to her very first assignment, Workation Warrior Sara G., RN made an unexpected friend and new addition to her TravelNurse adventures!
“My dad was driving with me to my first assignment in Grand Falls – Windsor, NL. When first arriving into New Brunswick, my dad noticed a dog in-between the two highways. We quickly turned the vehicle around and were looking for her in between the fencing on the highway. We found her lying along the fence and when we got out of the car and called to her she began crawling towards me. I scooped her up, gave her some water, and she quickly fell asleep on my lap in the car. My dad and I looked at each other and already knew we loved this sweet, tired dog. We got in contact with the local rescue, A Dozen Roses Rescue, and a retired vet in Florenceville, NB offered to look after her until she could find a forever home. We knew we made that right decision but there was something about the cute pup that made us fall in love so quickly. While keeping in contact with the vet, Mil, we decided if no one came to claim her that we would include her into our pet-loving family. With my parents in Ontario and me in Newfoundland, my parents decided to make a weekend trip to go and pick up our newest family member, Flo. Named after the city she was found outside. Sweet Flo is believed to of been hit by a car which unfortunately left her with a knee injury that will most likely require surgery. Once she is up to 100% the plan is to bring her with me on future nursing assignments and get to bring her on all my future adventures. Mil described her as “exceptionally endearing” and I cannot wait to have another four-legged travel buddy.”
